Eight months ago, vampire Beaudelaire Delacourte had it all. As a tattoo artist, he used his special ink and spells to permanently tattoo other immortals and spent countless hours feeding and indulging in BDSM with his human lover, Aaron. Then he asked to turn Aaron so his lover could join him permanently, but Aaron refused, not willing to give up his humanity. Since then, Beau has kept his head down and stayed in his shop, only interacting with his clients who all come for his special brand of ink.
When Aaron shows up on his doorstep, half-dead and apologizing, Beau is shocked to learn that his boy was turned at the local vampire club by Stephan, another vampire. Not only was Aaron turned, but his chest was torn open, his fangs were broken and he was left in an alley to die. Spurred by the need to see Beau one last time, Aaron has been hiding in an abandoned building until he found the strength to make it to Beau’s shop.
Beau takes his boy in again, promising that Aaron will earn his place back in Beau’s bed, and vowing that he will take revenge on Stephan. Unbeknownst to Beau, Aaron is only the first in a long line of humans who Stephan has created then turned out to fend for themselves. As Beau discovers that this is only one of the old rules that Stephan has broken, he and Aaron are drawn into a web of intrigue that can only end in someone’s death.

Beau and Aaron had broken up when Beau offered his lover immortality and Aaron refused. That was months ago, and when Aaron stumbled back into Beau’s tattoo parlour, Beau was shocked. Not only had Aaron been viciously changed, but Aaron’s fangs had been broken and the man cast aside and left for dead. Can Beau reclaim his ex lover and can the two men find their way back to each other?
I found this a fresh take on the more traditional style of vampires. While much of the world and mythology is similar to the normal style everyone knows, I loved how the book itself focused strongly on Aaron learning the ropes of vampirism. Beau takes on the role of mentor and it was interesting to effectively learn alongside Aaron. Elements of the BDSM lifestyle were closely woven in with more common vampire lore – feeding and avoiding sunlight/lasers etc. And I was delighted by the slightly rough edge Beau had. No sparkly vampires or lacy, flouncy silk shirts here!
At a few points early in the book I worried that Aaron was slightly too dependent upon Beau. While I loved how Mr Michael explained very thoroughly how weak, young and new Aaron was – so this dependency really made sense and was completely logical, Aaron’s level of reliance on Beau was deeply submissive. I have to admit though I really enjoyed watching Aaron flourish and grow strong – not just as a vampire, but also as a man and in his relationship with Beau. The pacing was near perfect for me. Slow, gradual and both men needed to work hard and earn it all. This made the whole story a real delight to me and one I know I will thoroughly enjoy reading many times to come.
This is the first of a series, and I really enjoyed the paranormal world Mr Michael has created. There were a number of very strong secondary characters who I presume will be showcased in future books. Aaron and Beau’s relationship was primary throughout the entire book and while they did find a semi-regular human man to feed from (Geoff – I dearly hope his book is one of the upcoming ones) and the feeding was fairly sexual (the M/M/M listed above) this is not a traditional ménage or a committed part to Aaron and Beau’s relationship. Aaron and Beau care for Geoff, enjoy him and feed from him, but they’re not a threesome in a relationship way. Personally, I’m hoping this leaves the door open for Geoff’s own story. Similarly – I’d love to read a story about Beau’s two siblings.
A new and lovely look on the traditional vampire story. I really enjoyed this and am eagerly awaiting new stories in this series. Highly Recommended.

Reclaiming was certainly a very interesting read. The story starts exactly as how the blurb states. Six months earlier Beau had asked Aaron to allow him to turn him into a vampire, but Aaron had refused. Hiding in an abandoned building until he was strong enough, Aaron show up at Beau's doorstep in a half-dead, well as half dead as a vampire can be, to apologize. Beau takes Aaron back in and begins to nurse him back to health. As Aaron's story comes out, he finds Aaron was changed by force, his fangs broken and left for dead by Stephen. What's worse, Aaron isn't the only human Stephen has done this to!
What drew me in to want to read this book was the idea of a vampire as a tattoo artist. The combination of vamp and tats is something I have never encountered before and I just had to know how it worked out. Annnnd...I got my questions answered! Beau certainly does do permanent tats on other vamps and the process is a combination of special ink and spells. Aaron being one of the canvases he likes to work on. Tattoos aren't the only thing he does to Aaron. Can we say piercings! Things are very HAWT between these two as they re-establish their Master/sub relationship. The mystery surrounding Stephen's actions really had me interested. Throw in a great cast of secondary characters to keep things really moving along at an exciting pace.
Hot sex, great characters, and a dash of intrigue made Reclaiming a very well rounded story. Readers who like their M/M PNRs super-hot and spicy are going to enjoy this book.

Eight months after his lover rejected the offer of immortality and left, Beau is more than a little surprised to see him on his doorstep. That surprise turns to anger when he realizes his once life filled lover has been turned against his will, tortured and left for dead. Determined to put Aaron back together again, Beau will have to fight not only against his boy’s inner demons and fears but also the vampire that took what didn’t belong to him in the first place. There’s more at stake than just Aaron’s life and peace of mind, however, as a bigger problem comes to light, one that could destroy them all.
*hums* I really enjoyed this one. While its pretty much a given that when you read a Sean Michael book you’ll be getting lots of hot, deliciously wicked sex scenes, this story had a deeper plot behind all of that that I really enjoyed. Beau was a great character; strong when he needed to be and determined to both fix and keep Aaron for good while ensuring the one that hurt him is found and punished. Aaron was my favorite of the pair, however, as he showed such strength. He survived when he shouldn’t have, fought to get back to Beau and then continued fighting to stay with him. It was easy to see how much he and Beau loved each other and reading about his submission truly seemed like a gift at times.
I’ve read my fair share of kink and the variety in this book was great! There were elements of bdsm that I’m familiar with showcased but also things I’ve rarely seen or never seen before in a book and that was fantastic; I love being surprised like that! 🙂 There is one scene near the end that features a third man being brought in to play with the main characters but it wasn’t massively graphic and didn’t take up a huge swath of the story so if that isn’t your thing it can easily be glossed over or skipped altogether. The story itself moved along at a pretty steady pace and the plot behind it all was interesting and wide ranging. There’s a lot of backlash from the events at the end of the book that hasn’t had a chance to play out yet which actually bodes well for the rest of the series as there are a ton of different characters and a bunch of different directions the author can take things.
I enjoyed this one quite a bit; the combination of ink, vampires and kink was hard to resist. p If you enjoy paranormal books, like a bit of kink or just want a book with a lot of hot sex this could be something you’ll enjoy.
